Released in theaters in 1988, the animated film version of “AKIRA” went beyond the realm of manga to revolutionize the world of animation. This book contains a total of 3 volumes drawn by Katsuhiro Otomo, the original author and director, out of the huge amount of layouts, original drawings, and original corrections used in the production of the anime version. This is the first volume of the compilation. A layout is a drawing of necessary information for each of the scenes that make up the main part of the anime, and serves as a blueprint for drawing the anime. In addition to recording the original drawings and layouts of the four parts A, B, C, and D that make up the entire movie, “A part and the beginning of B part”, many precious scenes created based on them are included.
