His masterpiece “Heart Cocktail” has many scenes where music is played, and the song selection is also part of the taste. In addition, Mr. Watase’s work, which has designed numerous music jackets, has received renewed recognition due to the city pop boom in recent years, and the number of fans among the younger generation is increasing. This book is a collection of Watase’s latest works on the theme of “music”, which will celebrate his 50th anniversary as a painter next year. In addition to works that are directly related to music such as record/CD jackets, we have selected works that are inspired by some kind of song, and illustrations that depict scenes in which music can be heard. In addition, several comic works related to music that have not yet been published in book form are included, including two from “Heart Cocktail”.
